The control unit is located under the dashboard- It processes the information from the various sensors and determines the opening interval tor the injectors, if and for how long the cold start valve should be open and when the fuel pump should start operating.
The cold start valve (1970-1971) and fuel pump are operated via control relays located on the right wheel arch.
Here the main relay which feeds the control unit is also placed. The main relay is provided with a diode in the control circuit to prevent the injection system from being engaged and damaged, if the battery is connected with wrong polarity.
