Coupés, especially those driven so fast as the Volvo P1800 series, should also be driven with dipped headlights during the day. In many countries this is also a mandatory requirement.
To ensure that you do not forget to switch off the lights after parking the vehicle, it is advisable to retrofit a warning buzzer.
From model year 1972 onwards, a warning buzzer with integrated blocking diode for switched-on headlights is fitted as standard on the VOLVO 1800E and 1800ES models for the Scandinavian market.
A warning buzzer is available for little money in the accessories trade and can be retrofitted without much effort.
Connection: The warning buzzer sounds when the lheadlights are on and the driver's door is opened.
Ground: Black/blue wire of the warning buzzer to the connection from the door contact switch (driver's door) for the interior lighting, a black cable with 1.0 mm² behind the panelling near the fuse box.
Plus: Red wire of the warning buzzer with plug-in flag to fuse no. 12 (parking and tail light right) or no. 11 (parking and tail light left).
